Collection will be available in Jan 2022

Ozzy Osbourne is getting into the NFT market with CryptoBatz, featuring the world’s first mutating creature. The Prince of Darkness will unveil 9,666 totally unique NFT bats in January, according to Rolling Stone UK. The pixel-art collection is an homage to his 1982 performance in Des Moines where he bit the head off of a live bat that was tossed onto the stage.

Osbourne created the design with Studio Sutter Systems and will launch it in mid January. Each NFT, known as MutantBatz, will include a feature that allows it to “bite” and mutate with another NFT from owners’ digital wallets including Bsored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks, Cryptotoadz and a fourth mystery project that has not yet been unveiled.

“I’ve been trying to get in on the NFT action for a while so when I asked Sharon for a Bored Ape for Christmas after several failed attempts of buying my own, and she said no, so I decided to create my own,” Osbourne shares. “CryptoBatz is a fucking mental project for NFT collectors and fans. The design pays tribute to one of my most iconic on-stage moments and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!”

Twenty-five hundred pre-sale CryptoBatz are available via the CryptoBatz Discord channel. Applicants will can mint up to three CryptoBatz per wallet. Public minting opens in early February via the CryptoBatz site, with the option of minting one CryptoBat per wallet.
