The film opens in AMC theaters this fall

Taylor Swift has announced that her concert film documenting her massive Eras Tour is coming to theaters this fall. The news was shared by ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday (Aug 31st), with the pop star sharing that Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour will be screened in AMC theaters starting on October 13th.

The film documents the record-breaking trek’s North American run in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

GMA also debuted an exclusive first look at the concert film’s trailer during this morning’s broadcast.

Every US AMC Theatre location will run at least four showtimes per day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

To ensure the theatrical event is accessible and affordable for Taylor Swift’s millions and millions of fans, all adult tickets to the concert film will be priced at $19.89, plus tax. Children’s and senior tickets will be available for $13.13, plus tax, except for AMC’s branded premium large format screens.

In anticipation of the first day of advance ticket demands, AMC has bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than five times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.

The 53-date North American leg of the tour was attended by more than three million Taylor Swift fans. Not only did it shatter all concert sales records, but it also left tens of millions of adoring fans wanting more, either because they attended the concert and wanted to see it again, or after being unable to obtain tickets for sold out performance after sold out performance.

The trek is nearing the $1 billion mark in gross sales, which would make Swift the highest-grossing female artist and The Eras Tour the largest-ever grossing tour in US history. It’s projected to gross more than $2 billion by the end of its international run.

The country-turned-pop star is so popular that the Philadelphia Federal Reserve credits her single-handedly for raising the United States economy with tourism. Hotel revenues have been boosted for the first time since the pandemic as fans flock city to city to see Swift.

The first leg of the North American run wrapped in early August with a six-night stand at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. On the final night, she announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will be released on October 27th as the fourth of her re-recorded first six albums.

Fans in North America have a second chance to catch the trek next fall when The Eras Tour returns for 14 shows for a second US and Canadian leg in 2024. Swift will perform three shows each in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis with six performances set for Toronto in October and November of next year. Gracie Abrams will support all dates.

Swift is currently global as she takes The Eras Tour to Mexico, South America, Latin America, Asia and Europe through summer 2024.
