The song was the group’s third chart-topper

Iconic girl group TLC has achieved their first ever billion-streaming song on Spotify with songwriter Kevin “She’kspere” Briggs-produced hit “No Scrubs.”

“No Scrubs,” originally released in 1999 was TLC’s third No. 1 single and has continued to be a fan-favorite in the decades since its original release with numerous reimagined covers, remixes, and samples including Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” “SOS” from Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc, and more recently, Brent Faiyaz’s “Tim’s Intro.”

The hit song would go on to be nominated for eight Grammy Awards at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards and resulted in a Grammy win for Best R&B Song. Best-selling girl group TLC is one of the most influential groups of all time, scoring nine top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four No. 1 singles “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs” and “Unpretty.” The trio racked up four multi-platinum albums, including Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip in 1992, FanMail in 1999, 3D in 2002, and Crazysexycool in 1994, which reached diamond certification in America with over 15 million copies sold worldwide.
