TLC brilliantly writes relatable ‘Way Back’ single

TLC has been off the radar for the past fifteen years, however, the duo has made an incredible comeback. Their single “Way Back” is straight off their new album which will be released June 30th. The duo raised money via Kickstarter for their self-titled record that claims to be their last.

“Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere,” the duo writes. “We write music that people relate to…timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant. ”

The new single can be relayed to a lot of things such as friendships, relationships or even a bad ass duo that picked up exactly where they left off. Although it’s been fifteen years, T-Boz and Chili left off right where they started. Their artistry and sound is still the same as it was in 1999. The dance moves? Quite similar to the old ones. The style? Well, some things don’t ever change.

A brilliantly written song with massive energy and flair, the two ladies have showcased not only their talent, but their bravery and determination as well. It’s an upbeat track with a miniature old school feel. However, still modern enough to be played amongst today’s pop radio tracks. There’s even a special appearance by Snoop Dogg that brings his mad rapping skills to the track midway through.

“Way Back” is a song that flows, it’s fresh and edgy and well…clever. Plus, you get an extended version of the track on the album, which is even more clever 😉
