Band apologizes for cancelation
Zac Brown Band canceled a tour stop in Vancouver, Canada on Friday (Oct 21st) night after crew members were denied entry into the country. Despite performing in the country regularly for the past ten years and twice already this year, the group blames the “mercy of a single border agent” for the cancelation.
“We’re sorry to announce that we won’t be able to perform in Vancouver tonight. Our Canadian fans are incredible, and we would love nothing more than to share an evening of music together. Some of our crew members had charges on their records from over a decade ago that have since been removed. Our team has regularly performed in Canada for 10 years, including two performances this year alone,” the band shares in a statement on social media.
“Each time we’ve come to Canada, we have been at the mercy of a single border agent who decides who is allowed in to work, and unfortunately, not everyone was able to make it in the country last night. We are a family, a tribe. We stick together and support each other and we never leave anyone behind. As a band who prides themselves on showing up with excitement and professionalism, we will always play where we are welcome and appreciated, and we’re so sorry we can’t be there tonight.”
Zac Brown Band is currently in the midst of their Out in the Middle Tour. The band has five shows left on the trek. They perform tonight (Sat, Oct 22nd) in Portland, Oregon before heading to Los Angeles on November 4th, Oakland on November 6th, San Diego on November 18th before wrapping in Phoenix on November 19th.
The band recently made their 13th visit to Boston’s Fenway Park, where they hold the record for most consecutive sold out shows and were inducted into the Fenway Park Music Hall of Fame.
The band is touring in support of its latest release, The Comeback, which jumped to the No. 1 spot on the Current Country Albums Sales chart and was the Top New Country Album Release upon its release. Lead singer Zac Brown boasts a co-writer credit on every song and also co-produced the entire record alongside frequent collaborator Ben Simonetti. The Comeback (Deluxe) was released on September 30th with boasts newly recorded collaborations with Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, James Taylor and others.
