Six shows are rescheduled with two canceled

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has contracted COVID-19, forcing the group to postpone or cancel several dates on its tour with Staind. The band shared the news on social media on Monday (Aug 16th) that six shows have been rescheduled while two were canceled.

“We really appreciate your patience as we work out the next steps for our tour. On Saturday, we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for COVID, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last minute. As a result of his positive test, we also need to reschedule the next handful of shows. As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done,” they write.

“Jonathan’s spirits are high, and he’s resting and recovering now. We’re as disappointed as you are about the circumstances, but we’ll get through it though, and we can’t wait to see you once we’re back, firing on all cylinders once again.”

The postponements include this past Saturday’s show in Scranton, PA moving to September 25th; tomorrow’s (Tues, Aug 17th) in Wantagh, NY moving to September 28th; Wednesday’s (Aug 18th) in Holmdel, NJ moving to September 26th; Friday’s (Aug 20th) in Hartford, CT rescheduled for October 2nd; Saturday’s (Aug 21st) in Mansfield, MA moving to October 1st and Sunday’s (Aug 22nd) in Gilford, NH being performed on October 3rd.

The August 24th show in Darien Center, NY and August 25th in Syracuse, NY have both been canceled due to scheduling conflicts. Ticketholders will be contacted for refunds.

Korn is among the growing acts to cancel or postpone dates due to the deadly virus. Tesla, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foo Fighters, Buckcherry and Mammoth WVH have all been sidelined since returning to the road this summer.

Last week, organizers of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam postponed their festivals due to the surge of COVID cases nationwide. Others, such as Bonnaroo, Coachella and Stagecoach, will require proof of vaccination or negative test before ticketholders will be allowed to enter the venues. Live Nation, AEG Presents and Danny Wimmer Presents are also requiring proof of vaccination or negative COVID test before entering its venues, festivals or offices starting this fall.
