Amazon and Lionsgate TV are developing a drama based on characters and themes from Bob Dylan’s vast catalog, Variety reports. The hour long drama, entitled Time Out Of Mind, after the singer/songwriter’s 1997 album of the same name, is currently in the early stages of development with Australian writer/director Josh Wakely and his Sydney-based Grace production banner.

Wakey has managed to secure the rights to Dylan’s song catalog spanning more than 50 years. Plans for the series include taking two characters or story lines from Dylan’s songs and having them collide in some way. Other details are still sketchy at this point.

This is the latest in several music projects that Wakey and Amazon are working on. Wakey has also announced a deal with the Beatles’ Northern Songs publishing for a Netflix animated children’s series, called Beat Bugs, that will feature stories inspired by Beatles tunes. The series debuts this summer and features Eddie Vedder, Pink and Sia covering Beatles tunes.

Amazon also has a Grateful Dead-themed series in development that is being produced by founding member Bob Weir. That series is based on the 2003 book by roadie Steve Parish, “Home Before Midnight: My Life on the Road with the Grateful Dead.” Parish began working with the band’s road crew in 1969 and has an abundance of stories to tell.
