Weekly series features artists releasing new music

Blackpink is set to launch a new YouTube original weekly music series called Released on Thursday, October 1st. The weekly 16 episode series will feature some of music’s most noteworthy artists drumming up excitement surrounding its new music.

Released is hosted by Washington D.C. DJ, Little Bacon Bear. It comes from Gunpowder & Sky CEO Van Toffler and Den of Thieves. Each episode will be released every Thursday at 11:45 pm ET.

“Van Toffler is the visionary behind some of music’s most memorable moments and the perfect partner to bring this project to life,” states Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content for YouTube. “Released brings a dream team together for a topical weekly series that celebrates the inventive way music is consumed on YouTube while revitalizing a tried-and-true format with proven success.”

The special comes as the K-pop superstars prep to release its debut album The Album on Friday (Oct 2nd). Blackpink’s massively anticipated debut LP is set for release via YG Entertainment/Interscope Records, and includes both previously released hit singles “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez.

“We are honored and happy to be the first on YouTube’s new original content Released,” Blackpink shares. “We hope that it will be a great opportunity to celebrate our first full album The Album with many global music fans.”

Also on October 1st, Blackpink will premiere its new music during a special Apple Music Virtual Listening Party livestream event with over 1000 of their Apple Music super fans from all over the world. The group will also chat directly with fans during a Q&A moderated by Apple Music Global Creative Director and host, Zane Lowe, starting at 8 pm ET.
