The band launches an online museum

Mötley Crüe is celebrating its 43rd anniversary by launching The Crüeseum, The World’s Most Notorious Museum. The group has partnered with Definitive Authentic/Invenium — the company that helmed Metallica’s Black Box and the Def Leppard Vault, among others — to compile, archive, and bring to life the expansive collection found in the Crüeseum.

The living, breathing, virtual museum features memorabilia ranging from stage clothes, photographs, and instruments, to mementos and many other gems — many of which have never been seen by the public. The band’s archives will open to fans with three different collections: “Shout At The Devil,” a celebration of the band’s legendary breakthrough album; ”On With The Show,” a dedication to Mötley’s life on the road; and “Home Sweet Home – Los Angeles,” a dirty love letter to the city that made them. The Crüeseum is continually growing and will be replenished with exclusive items and much more to come — fans of the band are encouraged to check back often.

“From our earliest days forming the band in 1981, through rocking the incredible stadium tours of today, Mötley Crüe has been through some shit. We’ve traveled hundreds of thousands of miles on the road, recorded trailblazing studio albums, survived riots, posed for mugshots, broke hearts and kickstarted them again, enjoyed overwhelming international success, and left a literal trail of destruction behind us. So yeah, we’ve seen it all,” the band shares.

“Luckily, throughout these 40+ years misspent in the name of rock n roll, we also saved a lot of our favorite mementos, candid pics, and dirtiest souvenirs. Now, we’re finally ready to share them all with you. Come check out our past, present, and future right here inside The Crüeseum.

“We developed and curated the Crüeseum ourselves as an exclusive destination for Crüeheads to discover rare items from our career – and even own them! The Crüeseum shop is the ONLY place where you can get your very own piece of authentic Mötley history.”

In addition, the band also announced the return of its legendary fan club, S.I.N. club, which is “bigger and better than ever.”

Last year, the band teamed with BMG to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Shout at the Devil with a new multi-format box set. Shout at the Devil: 40th Anniversary Edition features the original album remastered, demos and rarities with a variety of demonic collectibles.

Released in 1983 at the height of the Satanic Panic, Shout at the Devil catapulted Mötley Crüe to superstardom. Delivering on the hype and promise of their platinum debut Too Fast For Love, Mötley Crüe’s second album hit the US Top 20 and was certified four times platinum. For many music fans, Shout at the Devil was the first time they witnessed an album with this imagery and lyrical content on mainstream retail shelves.

Mötley Crüe remains a huge global draw 40-plus years into their career and, in the summer of 2022 co-headlined a nearly sold-out North American stadium tour with Def Leppard. The tour continued globally in 2023 with legs in Latin America, Europe, Japan, and Australia before concluding in Melbourne, Australia on November 14th.

While in Europe, frontman Vince Neil confirmed with The Music Universe that multiple new tracks from the band are on the way and that they performed a “secret” London club show under the pseudonym Dögs of War that sold out instantly. Neil shared the news during an interview with us from London about judging the new AXS TV competition show Banded. The rocker also told us additional stadium shows are set for 2024 appearances at Welcome To Rockville, Summerfest, Ottawa Bluesfest, and others with newly minted guitarist John 5 replacing founding member Mick Mars.
